Edible Montpelier: Edible Planters

Building on the success of the courgette planters on Station Path, we are looking to find more sites for small wooden planters that allow people to pick fresh vegetables and herbs when they’re walking around Montpelier.  We’re also looking for people who live very close by to keep an eye on them and tidy them up once a month or so if they need it.

Ideally these planters would be hammered into turf or soil, around 50cm square, and would be tall enough to keep dogs off the produce.  We can also look at positions for larger planters like the big one at the end of Station Path, or the traffic management racks in the road at the corner of the Thali, and would run a consultation with neighbours of larger sites to make sure a large planter would be welcome.

If you have a site in mind, or you’d be interested in helping us, please let us know in a comment below or via email to urbangreening@transitionmontpelier.org.uk.

Cheers,

The Urban Greening team
