We’ve all had our ups and downs in community groups; this training in Saint Werburghs is specifically designed to help community groups with running effective groups and is highly recommended and an absolute bargain given what it is. Here’s the blurb:
Introduction to Effective Groups – Skills for resilient projects – With Nick Osborne.
Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd December 10.00am to 5.00pm
St Werburghs Community Centre, Bristol
Lets face it meetings can drag, politics get in the way, personalities clash, power struggles happen and its always the people stuff that gets in the way of a good project.
This two day course teaches us how to collaborate, communicate and make decisions collectively. It’s for anyone trying to do radical things at a community or organisation level and who needs to work creatively and
dynamically with others. A simple common sense exploration of structures, power and responsibility in a way that enables us to take action and work together with authenticity and openess.
Nick Osborne brings insight and experience with a relaxed and participatory style.
Benefits of doing the course;
• Understand the diverse features which create & sustain healthy groups
• Identify issues your group is currently facing
• Plan how to address difficult issues
“ I’m so glad I did this training. After the two days I just wanted to cry at the thought of all those awful meetings I’ve encountered that didn’t need to have been so frustrating! Every meeting we’ve had since the training have been enjoyable and productive, our communication is vastly improved and we run a much happier ship. Phew.”
