A new team of residents has come together to kickstart the skateable space project at the rear of the MUGA; if you’d like to join in and help out with this, please let me know and I can forward your details on to them.
Although we have yet to secure funding for the spectator seating between the ballcourt and the playground, we have secured permission to clear the tree weed and scrub on the slope and we’ll be doing this at a community Clearing Day on Saturday 15th October. If you can spare half an hour for some graft in the undergrowth, all hands will be much appreciated. With this out of the way, we should open up a clear view from the top of the park to the bottom, and there may even be some space to sit and watch the action on the ball court.
Whilst the bulk of the work on the MUGA has been done, there are clearly still many jobs to finish off, and snags to resolve on the rear slope too (eg turf problems, signage on the BBQ). The council’s in-house team will restart the MUGA works within the next three weeks, hoping to have everything completed by the end of October.
Hope to see you at the AGM on Monday 10 October, and if not, in the park for the Clearing Day on 15 October.
Cheers,
Shiona
