There isn’t much space in Montpelier for trees. A year ago, Urban Greening mapped the streets to pinpoint possible sites, and we’ve managed to pick off the ‘easy wins’ this winter with 530 new trees in Montpelier. The sites left involve planting established street trees (3 metres +) in excavated and lined tree pits, where the cost is about £2,000 per tree.
In conjunction with TreeBristol and Forest of Avon Trust, Urban Greening are applying for a lottery grant to help plant large street trees on various patches of council land. To help us provide evidence of community consultation for this bid, we’d really appreciate you completing this short form. Which trees (if any) would you like to see on each site?
A map of sites with images of the proposed trees can be found here:
More information on the tree species can be found at www.british-trees.com.
