Montpelier Park Regeneration: Update

In June 2009, Bristol City Council initiated a public consultation on three alternative design ideas for Montpelier Park (one, two and three). The results of that consultation are here.

We were hoping that the final design would be available for a second public consultation at the Montpelier Beanfeast, but unfortunately their landscape designer contracted swine flu and the design was delayed. It was finally received by the Park group on 23 September and unfortunately failed to deliver two of the key aspects we felt were essential: landscaping on the rear wasteground to raise the levels and improve sightlines and natural surveillance to the back of the Park, and a skateable space that could actually be skated on.

We met with the council this week and they have agreed to revisit the design and come back to us in the next few weeks. They will appear here and around Montpelier for public consultation as soon as we get them!
