Here are some of them:

  • It’s difficult but rewarding
  • Have to learn to work together – it’s new
  • It’s very exciting to see your work unfold
  • Main symbol for them is the farmer’s market
  • Maintain public profile at at events: fairs, schools, talks
  • Only a few of them are really active – but that’s all you need
  • 140ish people on the mailing list – a rich resource of knowledge
  • Keep selves informed – invite experts to talk at meetings

And on some of the benefits of being a Transition Initiative:

  • Tap into Transition Bristol
  • More in touch with other initiatives
  • Share resources with other initiatives
  • Visit other initiative meetings

Thanks Hamish!
